Sheffield Schutzhund Club is a branch of the German Shepherd Dog League -WDG

.: Welcome to the Sheffield Schutzhund Club website

*** Sheffield Schutzhund Club is a small club with a limited membership. We find our Membership limit has been reached and we are unable to admit NEW members at this time; please check back now and then for notice when Membership places come available. ***

Sheffield Schutzhund Club (SSC) is based in Epworth, North Lincolnshire; where we have trained for the past couple of years. A branch club of the German Shepherd Dog League- Working Dog Group, we exist purely for training and competing in the dog-sport of schutzhund; that is all three phases of the sport (tracking, obedience and protection) are trained for. It is emphisised that we are NOT an Obedience club, we are NOT a Personal Protection dog club, we are NOT a KC Working Trials club. We specialise in the training of a dog-sport which unlocks the potential and the versatility shown in a good working dog.

2011 has been a successful time for Sheffield Schutzhund Club: all members have progressed towards reaching their goals. By the end of 2012 we have six SchH3's and one SchH1; along with several of the same dogs acquiring their AD's.

Add to this our 'event management' skills having hosted WUSV/FCI World Championship Qualifiers in 2009 and 2010. For 2011 we hosted the GSDL National Championships in October. We also host 2 or 3 club trials in the year, utilising SV judges as well as GSDL WDG.

Thanks to our friends and contacts on the Continent we have an influx of youngsters who are showing much promise and this bodes well for future years. All in all, Sheffield Schuzhund Club is a 'happy band' with much to offer the Schutzhund scene.
